The 1984 John Milius directed film “Red Dawn” starring the late Patrick Swayze is finally coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 9th via MGM (distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment) according to an early alert to retailers. The film co-stars C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey and Harry Dean Stanton. It was originally slated to be released on the Blu-ray format way back in 2007 but was postponed. It seems the reason for it being postponed and the timeframe of its release now is to tie-in with the 2012 remake set to hit theaters in November (a month after the original film hits Blu-ray). Tech specs for the release include full 1080p Hi-Def video and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. No info regarding bonus materials has been detailed yet but stay tuned. The title is already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with a $13.99 price tag.
