Warner has announced in a trade ad (pictured above which you can click on full a larger view) that they plan to bring two modern-day classic horror films to Blu-ray Disc in October — just in time for Halloween obviously.
The first title is the 1994 film “Interview with The Vampire” starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, based on Anne Rice‘s bestseller which is scheduled for a October 7th release.
The second title is the the 1982 Tobe Hooper Directed and Steven Spielberg Written “Poltergeist” film scheduled for a October 14th release. The Hi-Def transfer on this apparently has received a new restoration that includes regenerated picture elements. The release will also be in a “Digibook” style packing like “Dirty Harry” and “Natural Born Killers” on Blu-ray. We’ll update you when we learn more details about the tech specs such as audio/video codecs and when pre-order listings become available on Amazon. Stay tuned — and the ‘Poltergiest’ TV in the cover art pun is totally intended there.
UPDATE: Both of these titles are now available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon, just click on their titles above.

Whoa. I’ve been itching to watch Interview for the past month for some reason. Looks like I’ll wait, good deal.
Poltergeist. PG horror movie…no. It scared the crap out of me. That’s a maybe for me, probably not though.

Charle: I agree completely, the first time I saw Poltergeist was when I was 9, I had some pretty bad nightmares until I was about 10 or 11.
