Independent studio/distributor Oscilloscope Laboratories has plans to bring the 2009 film “The Messenger” to Blu-ray Disc on May 25th. The film got Woody Harrelson an “Oscar” (Academy Award) nomination for “Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role” and writers Alessandro Camon & Oren Moverman nominated for “Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen” this morning. Tech specs for the release at this point as well as information regarding bonus materials are both unknown but stay tuned and we will keep you updated. The title is available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with a $24.49 price tag. Also worth mentioning, the film was directed by Oren Moverman (who as mentioned above also served as co-writer on the screenplay) and stars Woody Harrelson (as mentioned above), Ben Foster, Samantha Morton, Jena Malone and even Steve Buscemi.
UPDATE: The PR for Oscilloscope has contacted me and informed me that the release date listed on Amazon is a typo, it is actually coming out on May 25th (not March 25th as it states and we previously reported). Apologies for the mix up.
