In UK three Die Hard movies will get a bonus disc each, 1,2 and 4 so that boxset would be 8 discs if they get same special disc as US so sounds kind of thin with just one for this set.

I liked Rami’s Spider-Man origin film as well, but even my supervisor at DISH agrees that The Amazing Spider-Man was much better. I am not saying that Rami’s 2002 version is not good, but I think what Garfield brings to the screen is much more powerful then anything I saw in the previous trilogy. Either way I can’t wait to see what they end up doing this time around. I never have enough time or energy to drive over to a Redbox after work, but since I started using Blockbuster at Home through DISH the disks are already waiting in the mailbox when I get home and this was the best film I have seen all year.

It seems from the press release that the blu-ray features the “Unrated Director’s Cut” and the DVD version has the “R-rated version”. Which is strange since this played theaters with an NC-17 rating. How did it become unrated?

There is no “DISC 5″ it’s a 4-disc set. You just got an extra copy of the 2nd Blu-ray with Bonus Materials I assume.

I got my blu-rays in the mail on Saturday, but instead of a Disc 5, I got two Disc 4′s. I need to call them tomorrow to find out if there is, in fact, a problem with Disc 5. If there is, they’ll have to send it to me.

Yeah there is plenty of speculation it will be locked based on what you have said but no actual proof. I would like actual confirmation from someone who has access to the disc.

hazzard: I’d actually say that this is locked to Region A (1) because 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment actually owns the distribution rights to this overseas like in the United Kingdom. It’s also streeting on different dates globally I’ve noticed so I think there will be different versions for different countries. This version will play for folks in the United States, Canada and Japan if I’m correct in that it is locked to Region 1. If anyone knows that I’m incorrect I’d love for you to actually let me know. I’ll be doing some research later today to see if I can find any substantial info on the region coding of the release.

Wow, I thought was the only one who thought this movie was just an Atheist apologist’s sermon. This is unforgivably bad, it’s not a comedy; it’s just a feeble excuse for people to go into the theater, and be lectured for 90 minutes about how “religion is a lie, heaven/God doesn’t exist, members of the clergy are liars, etc.” Imagine if you were going to a strip club for your birthday, was told that you were was going to get a lap dance, and when you got to the room, instead of getting a lap dance, Sarah Palin comes out and lectures you about “Abstinence Only”. You’d be pretty pissed, too.

A tiny bit of edge enhancement could have been used to deliver a non-”soft” visual appearance yet I disagree, this film grain looks real — not digital.

Like I said, I knew damn well you “videophiles” would try to argue with me here until the end of time on my rating. I’d like to remind you I’m the only site offering you the UNCOMPRESSED ACTUAL PNG screenshots and not shitty 720p HEAVILY COMPRESS JPEG screenshots (1080p for their “users” althought it’s also compressed JPEG).

Try analyzing the uncompressed screenshots and NOT theirs for starters. That MIGHT help.

Blu-ray.com is LITERALLY the worst site online. Plus I can tell you that Kenneth Brown is a complete moron. I’ve had to tell him that numerous times. C’mon 3.5 for VQ?! 4 for AQ?! This douchebag even gave the film only a 4 star rating… He’s not a fan of the film really.

1) Looks digital as the grain doesn’t look real.

2) Plenty of artificial sharpening.

Universal should handover its catalog titles to Sony or Criterion and only concentrate of new releases.

thanks for the review. though gutted universal didn’t do a full restoration and didn’t clean up the dirt, as i like new and old films totally cleaned (free of damage, dirt, white specks, scratches, vertical lines, stains, etc.). other sites claim this blu ray release has a bad picture quality due to DNR application, and dirt, etc.
