“Lone Wolf and Cub Complete 6 Film Collection” on Blu-ray in September

Distributor AnimEigo plans to bring the “Lone Wolf and Cub Complete 6 Film Collection” starring Tomisaburo Wakayama to Blu-ray Disc on September 25th. This will be the first time that the films have been brought to North America on Blu-ray Disc in their original form (with the first two films presented separately and not as “Shogun Assassin“) as well as in the original Japanese language with English subtitles. The films have previously been released as part of the “Shogun Assassin 5-Film Blu-ray Collector’s Set” with dubbed English. The set is already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with a $41.99 price tag. The films included in this set are listed below with their original English titles and release dates.

UPDATE: I’ve contacted the distributor and I’ve got the following info regarding tech specs. This will be in full 1080p (via the 2.35:1 aspect ratio) Hi-Def video and in Dolby Digital Mono JAPANESE audio with English subtitles. The only bonus materials set to be included are program notes.
