MTV News is reporting that there will be an Epilogue on the Blu-ray Disc (and DVD) release of “LOST: The Complete Sixth Season” featuring the adventures that characters “Hurley” and “Benjamin Linus” had before the final events of the last episode of the series. We expect Disney (ABC) to make some more specific details on the bonus materials soon so stay tuned. Just a reminder, the title is available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon carrying a $51.99 price tag and set to street on August 24th. This new information now backs up the report that we did earlier this week (HERE) about there being further explanations on the home video release but I have a feeling there’s something more in store for the Blu-ray release especially with maybe a Bonus View feature like the “Enhanced” versions that they had aired of the show on ABC (and are still available on HULU) which contained clues and such popping up in the bar at the bottom of the screen. MTV News says there will be 12 to 14 minutes of footage in this epilogue. Below you’ll find some excerpts from that MTV News story regarding this “epilogue” being included on the season six home video release.
Hurley: “You know, you were a real good number two.” Ben: “And you were a great number one, Hugo.”
This brief exchange between Hurley (Jorge Garcia) and Ben (Michael Emerson) in the final stretch of “Lost” series finale “The End” suggested that a lifetime of adventures unfolded for the Island duo before they eventually moved on and reunited with their friends in the pre-afterlife. And fans will actually get to glimpse those adventures when season six of “Lost” arrives on DVD and Blu-ray.
“For those people that want to pony up and buy the complete ‘Lost’ series, there is a bonus feature — you could call it an epilogue, a lost scene,” Emerson said during an appearance on G4′s “Attack of the Show.” “It’s a lot, 12 or 14 minutes, that opens a window on that gap of unknown time between Hurley becoming number one and the end of the series.”

They should have done a bonus episode about that!

Hope it makes up a little for the downer that was the last few scenes of the finale. Michael Emerson (on AOTS) made it sound like it’s on the Complete Series. Hope it’s on the sixth season standalone BD, too, ’cause I’m sure as heck not buying S1-5 again.

For real. If the Season 6 that comes with the complete series set has more content than the standalone season 6 Blu-ray, they’re gonna have a lot of irate fans on their hands!
