In an early alert to retailers (namely Amazon) we now learn that Disney plans to bring both the original 1982 film “TRON” and the 2010 sequel “TRON: Legacy” to Blu-ray Disc on April 5th — both seperately and bundled together in a few options.
First off the titles are available combined in a “TRON: 2-Movie Collection” which contains the Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray 2D, DVD and Digital Copy of the sequel and Blu-ray 2D of the original film; this version is available for pre-order over at Amazon with a $55.99 price tag. The more popular alternative and likely the be the most popular is that same 2-movie collection but in a Limited Edition Identity Disc box set collectible packaging called “The Ultimate TRON Experience” which contains all listed above and is available for pre-order over at Amazon with a $69.99 price tag.
For those of you who disliked or want to avoid the sequel, there’s the option of purchasing just the “TRON: The Original Classic” which is a “combo” with the DVD also included and is available for pre-order over at Amazon with a $27.99 price tag. Finally, there’s two different versions of the sequel going to be available — a Blu-ray 3D of “TRON: Legacy 3D” will be available in a “combo” pack with the Blu-ray 2D, DVD, and Digital Copy included, as well as the traditional Blu-ray (2D) “combo” pack with the DVD and Digital Copy included. These are both available for pre-order over at Amazon and carry $34.99 and $27.99 price tags (in that order). No word yet on what the tech specs will be for these two films nor what bonus materials are set to include but stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted once the studio makes an official announcement regarding the release(s).
