“The Pirates! Band of Misfits” on both Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D in August

In an early alert to retailers Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has made public their plans to bring the 2012 stop-motion animated film “The Pirates! Band of Misfits” to Blu-ray Disc (in 2D) and Blu-ray 3D on August 28th. The film features the voices of Hugh Grant, David Tennant, Imelda Staunton, Salma Hayek, Anton Yelchin, Martin Freeman, Jeremy Piven, Brendan Gleeson and Al Roker. It is known that one bonus material included will be an ALL-NEW Mini-Movie “So You Want to be A Pirate!” but that’s all mentioned so far. Both versions will be in “combo pack” form with the Blu-ray version including a DVD & UltraViolet digital copy and the Blu-ray 3D version including the Blu-ray & DVD. Both versions are already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with the Blu-ray carrying a $34.99 and the Blu-ray 3D carrying a $42.31 a price tag.

UPDATE: Tech specs include full 1080p Hi-Def video and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The bonus materials set to be included are listed below.
