Universal announces the 2007 David Cronenberg film “Eastern Promises” is headed to Blu-ray in October

Universal has announced plans to bring the 2007 David Cronenberg Directed “Eastern Promises” to Blu-ray Disc on October 14th. This title was released previously on the ill-fated HD-DVD format and is now finally seeing “the light of day” on Blu-ray. This film is rather excellent as both my co-writer Brendan Surpless, who did the HD-DVD review agreed. Technical specs so far include AVC MPEG-4 video and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio for sound. We’ll let you know when more information surfaces as well as when the pre-order listing on Amazon becomes available. Stay tuned!
