The Warner Archive Collection MOD (manufacture-on-demand) service has announced they plan to start offering titles on Blu-ray Disc on November 20th. The first two titles available will be the 1982 Sidney Lumet directed film “Deathtrap” starring Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve & Dyan Cannon and the 1962 Mervyn LeRoy directed film “Gypsy” starring Rosalind Russell, Natalie Wood & Karl Malden. Both are available for PRE-ORDER over at the site with each carrying a $19.95 price tag. The Blu-ray titles are said to all offer full 1080p digital masters with DTS-HD Master Audio sound. Both of these titles will receive DTS-HD 2.0 Master Audio sound according to their pre-order listings on the site. “Deathtrap” will be presented in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio and “Gypsy” will be presented in the original 2.40:1 aspect ratio. Bonus materials will actually be included on some of these releases. In fact, “Gypsy” will include the following bonus materials.

– “Together Wherever We Go”
They plan on offering up one or two new Blu-ray films per month at some point in February 2013. The next two titles said to be slated for availability include the 1994 Coen Brothers film “The Hudsucker Proxy” starring Tim Robbins, Paul Newman & Jennifer Jason Leigh and the 1993 Peter Weir directed film “Fearless” starring Jeff Bridges, Isabella Rossellini & Rosie Perez. No specific date on when you can expect those two titles but keep an eye out on the Blu-ray section of the WAC website.
