Warner unveils the new “Ultimate Editions” for the first two “Harry Potter” films on Blu-ray coming DecemberSeptember 19, 2009 – 12:26 am - Posted by: Justin Sluss
The day before yesterday I reported to you HERE that two new “Ultimate Editions” of the first two “Harry Potter” films were set to be released on Blu-ray Disc come December 8th to coincide with the release of the latest film in the franchise. Warner today has sent out an e-mail and updated their information on the press site. Above, you’ll see the cover art for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone [Ultimate Edition]” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets [Ultimate Edition]“, as well as HERE in the trade ad.
Tech specs I’m assuming will include full 1080p Hi-Def video and hopefully Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround on each release, which would be likely or Uncompressed Linear PCM (LPCM) 5.1 mixes as found on the currently available Blu-ray releases of the films. Another note on the side of tech specs, each “Ultimate Edition” will be a 3-Disc BD-25 (25 gigabyte single layered Blu-ray Disc) set, meaning each disc is a BD-25. Bonus materials here are going to be very lengthy in comparison to the previous releases of the films. Below you’ll find the details for bonus materials to be included on the 3-Disc set each film will be receiving. Both films are already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with $34.99 price tags, click on their titles above or below for links.
